Your first statement.
Your first statement is prorated from the day of activation for the remainder of the days left during the same month.
Your statement date is the same every month.
This is automatically generated, and it is due on the first of the month. We are a prepaid internet service. You pay for the service on the first of the month.
We automatically charge your payment method on file.
You’ll pay your OLW statement by providing us with a form of payment that we’ll automatically charge on the first of the month.
You may choose to pay with a credit/debit card. Once you’re set up with automatic payments, you’ll always be able to view your statement online at My-account at www.outerlimitwifi.com.
The installation process.
A certified professional technician will install the equipment and activate the OLW Internet service at your location.
The cpe is about 15 in. wide x 15 in. high and can be easily mounted on your roof, on an outside wall of your home.
If your equipment installation requires a non-standard option, there may be additional charges at the time of installation. For example, an installer may charge up to $75 for a wall fish.
A cable from the cpe connects to the router, which connects to your computer.
Installations typically take 2-3 hours.
Installation requires a trained technician to make sure that the dish is pointed at the Tower accurately and to verify that all connections are properly made.
Site Requirements
A OLW -certified technician will discuss site requirements with you, such as a clear line of site to the Tower, and will help you choose the best location for the cpe. Someone over the age of 18 must be present during installation.
The main equipment you need for OLW Internet is an official OLW cpe, router and the related cables and hardware. This equipment is supplied by OLW and the customer owns the equipment.
Before scheduling an installation, you will need to check with your landlord or homeowner’s association (HOA) to see if they allow the OLW cpe. The OLW cpe is governed by the FCC Over-the-Air Reception Devices (“OTARD”) Rule. The OLW cpe has the same classification as other residential dishes like satellite television dishes. It can usually be mounted on your home unless your landlord or HOA specifically prohibits dishes of any kind.
OLW Internet service have different plans, some unlimited standard data and some where you can add additional data as needed. Plans vary per location
- Unlimited Standard Data kicks in after you’ve used up your monthly High-Speed Data. Unlimited Standard Data is prioritized behind other customers during times of network congestion resulting in slower speeds but should allow you to do essential, everyday activities such as web browsing, audio streaming, social media and email.
Your monthly data usage is measured by the number of bytes transferred, or used, between your network and the Internet.
Your monthly data measurement reset date is based on the plan you select. Different plans have different reset dates..
If you are experiencing extremely slow speeds, you may want to consider buying more High-Speed Data at any time during the month, if you are on the plan with the option.
To find the plan that’s best for you, you’ll want to consider your screen size, screen type, how much and what kind of data you plan to stream.
Here’s some information to help you understand what’s involved.
Understanding resolution
OLW internet plans deliver different levels of streaming video quality (expressed as resolution). There are many factors involved in determining video resolution, including the playback settings you configure on each video streaming service.
The sharpness of your image depends on both the resolution and the size of your display screen. Put simply: small screens look fine with lower resolution, and larger screens require a higher resolution to look good. Also: the higher the video resolution, the more data you need. The lower the resolution, the less data you need.
Screen resolution is expressed as the number of pixels your screen can display horizontally and -vertically. For example, 1920 x 1080 pixels, or 1080p, is known as full high definition (HD).
With your data plan, video streams defaults to at DVD quality (typically 480p) so you will use less data.
- Low resolution (360p) is best for small devices such as smart phones and tablets.
- DVD quality (480p) is best for medium devices such as computer monitors, laptop monitors and TV’s.
- HD quality (720p) is best for large devices such as large screen TV’s or projectors.
- Full HD quality (1080p) is best for large devices such as large screen TV’s or projectors.
- Ultra HD (4K) is the highest cinematic standard for video resolution, designed for wide screens and digitally produced content.
OLW offers service speeds up to 100 Mbps in select areas and has several speed and service options available, depending on where you live. The right plan for you is based on your anticipated monthly usage.
OLW’s internet plans are location-based and are available in many areas. On some OLW service plan, there’s no limit to the amount of Standard Data you can use during your monthly measurement period. Unlimited Standard Data means you will never run out of data, it will still work at lower speeds.
If you are experiencing extremely slow speeds, you may want to consider buying more High-Speed Data at any time during the month, but remember your High-Speed Data resets when the selected plan resets, you will get this information at time of activation.
If you’re still not sure which plan is best for you, feel free to contact sales for help choosing one.
